Looking for love, laughter, or just a meaningful chat with someone who truly gets you?
Join us for a fun, fast-paced night of connection and conversation at our next Lesbian Adventures in Dating (yes, LAID... you're welcome) online speed dating event.
Whether you’re here for romance, friendship, or just a good time with good people, this app-testing night is a low-pressure way to meet other queer women and nonbinary folks while helping us improve a dating app built just for our community. Think of it as flirting with purpose.
Why Online Speed Dating?
Back in February 2019, my wife, Kristen, and I hosted our first lesbian speed dating night in downtown Indianapolis. It was a hit. But behind the scenes, we were scrambling to assign matches, collect feedback, and connect those who matched afterward.
So we built an app to make the whole thing smoother.
Since then, we’ve been fine-tuning the app like it’s our third child. Every time we release a new version, we test it live, with real people and real conversations. That’s what this event is. A full-speed dating experience and a chance to help shape a tool made for our community, by our community at a significantly discounted rate.
Time
9pm ET / 8pm CT / 7pm MT / 6pm PT
(Expect to stay for about 90 minutes)
Where
Zoom (link sent after you register)
Use a desktop, laptop, or tablet for Zoom and have your smartphone ready with the Lesbian Adventures in Dating app downloaded.
Before We Begin
We’ll start with a 5 to 10-minute check-in to make sure everyone has the app downloaded, and their profile is set up. Please be on time. Once the dating rounds begin, late arrivals will not be admitted.
You’ll be moved into private Zoom rooms for a series of 6-minute dates. Depending on attendance, you may have up to 10 speed dates. After each date, you’ll log your response in the app by choosing one of the following:
No chemistry
Friendship
Romantic interest
A match is made when both people select the same or deeper level of interest. You won’t be told if someone marked you as a friend when you selected romantic interest, which keeps the experience safe and free of awkward rejection.
You’ll receive an email with your matches and their contact information. You’ll also be able to view all participants and send messages to anyone you didn’t meet but would like to connect with. These messages are sent through the app and include your name so the recipient knows who you are, even if they didn’t speak with you during the event.
This event is for lesbian, bi, queer, and pansexual women, including trans women, as well as nonbinary folks who feel comfortable dating in this space.
Anyone interested in building connections, whether romantic, flirty, or friendly
People are open to trying something new and helping us test a community-focused app
This is a low-pressure, high-potential way to meet new people and support a tool built specifically for lesbian and queer connection.
